Plumsted Presbyterian Church – New Egypt, NJ

14 Front Street, New Egypt, NJ

Welcome to Plumsted Presbyterian Church’s website. We hope you will visit us in person!

We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and part of the Presbytery of Monmouth.

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of the month.

Announcements for December 17

Christmas Pageant: We are having a Christmas pageant this year on Sunday, December 22nd during worship. The kids will be performing and the whole congregation will be asked to sing.

Post-Pageant Refreshments: There will be a Christmas Pageant Celebration following worship on Sunday to celebrate our children, their teachers, and all who made the pageant possible. Please bring a snack or goody to share if you can.

Advent Calendar: If you didn’t already pick your Counting Our Blessings Advent Calendar, be sure to do so this Sunday (one per household please). The devotions invite us to journey back in time and meet Jesus’ family.

Craft Table: The Deacons’ Annual Christmas craft/gift table is set up in the large Sunday School room and will be open until Christmas. Donations of small gifts and handmade items to be sold are still welcome. If you see something you like, you may drop your money in the basket on the table. Happy shopping!

Recycled Card Program Update: The Deacons will be doing the recycled card program again this year. The Arcadia Nursing Facility in Hamilton, NJ, will gladly take our old cards to use for craft projects for the residents. The details are slightly different than in the past. Please save the whole card (do not tear), and brand does not matter. The cards are being used in-house, so there are no copyright issues. A bag will be placed in the back of the church to collect your old cards. Remember, please provide the whole card (writing and all). Merry Christmas.

Food Pantry: The Food Pantry needs some new volunteers. The Pantry is open the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Volunteers greet clients, check them in, and help them with their groceries. The commitment is usually once every 6 weeks. If you can spare some time from your schedule to help out, it would be a blessing. Anyone interested should see Dan Fowler or call him at (609) 758-5895.

Save the date: EQUIPPING THE SAINTS: LEADERSHIP TRAINING DAY is Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Princeton Theological Seminary. See Phyllis to get a copy of the list of courses that include I Refuse to Lead a Dying Church; Elder as Spiritual Leader; Resources for the Future: Discovering the Genesis Center & Get a Head Start on VBS; Deacons/Caring Ministers 101; Becoming a Disciple-Making Congregation; Planting Seeds: Using Mass Media to Tell Your Church’s Story; Elders 101: So Now I’m a Ruling Elder, Now What; Deacons/Caring Ministers 101.
